Today was a series of let downs and set backs. I really didn’t notice it until I looked back at the day and realized everything I tried to accomplish met a road block. Not only that, but after working long hours on a Sunday in my office, I go out to the car and realize my keys are still in the office — locked in the office. No security guard, no janitorial service and no leasing office open to let me back in. We’re talking no way to get in my home or back in my office.
You may say, “What does that have to do with the beautiful picture below?” Well, in years past with a day like this, I would be exasperated — completely angry and stressed out. But, I’m sitting here celebrating inside that I don’t feel that way at all. Instead, I’m happy that my boyfriend came and rescued me! And, we are about to watch Master of Disguise – a crazy madcap Dana Carvey flick –a great ending to the week and laughter-filled way to begin a new one.
So, look at the photo a little closer. Is it still as beautiful as it was at first glance, before you realized the central flower has lost all it petals? We learn early on to label everything as it comes up, so we have a place to file it in our brains – good, bad, fun, awful, pretty, etc. Re-training ourselves to not label experiences, cultivating a positive mind, can pay off as we see that many times the wrong turns can land us in rosy pictures.
