Every moment is like water in a river, drifting by – never to be touched again. Shouldn’t we from time to time reflect on our flow – take a look at our path, our days. How much of it is automatic? How much is dictated by societal beliefs, parent expectations, your own beliefs that you absorbed from friends, family, media and the world at some point in your past? How many of our beliefs were formed in childhood? Do they still serve us?
Any time is a good time to check in with our emotional guidance system — negative beliefs, anger, restlessness, and hurts within and recognize where they came from. Any time is a good time to realize that no matter how we absorbed those limiting beliefs, most times the people that helped us form them had the best intentions. Parents, teachers and society in general only know as much as those that came before them. It’s okay if they were mistaken. It’s time to forgive them and forgive ourselves for mistaken beliefs, and move on to more positive thoughts and a more positive mind. Any time is a good time to be courageous and rewrite our authentic beliefs, authentic path and the authentic flow of our lives. The trick is to not do it with an eye on what is. Do it with an eye on what can be. What can it be if we train our eyes and brain on beauty, creativity, love, passion — our core values — whatever they are! The world is wide open to us. It contains all possibilities all the time! Seize them! It is not to late to claim 2015 as the year of the authentic you!
